City of Batu Launches Emergency Call Service 112 for Residents and Tourists
Batu, October 12, 2024 – In an effort to enhance safety and comfort for both  residents and tourists, the City of Batu has officially launched the emergency call
service 112. The launch event was attended by the Acting Mayor of Batu, Aries Agung Paewai, alongside the Head of the Communication and Information Office,
Onny Ardianto, during the peak night of the ATV Carnival 2024 at the Among Tani City Hall. The emergency call service 112 is designed to provide quick assistance in various emergency situations. Calls can be made free of charge, even without a SIM card, and will function in areas with weak signal reception, including remote locations and situations such as a stalled elevator. “The launch of this service demonstrates that the City Government of Batu is present and responsive to the community. I hope the public will utilize this program for easier access and faster response in emergencies,” Aries stated in his
remarks. In addition to handling emergencies, the 112 service can also be used to file complaints with various government agencies, including the police, BPBD (Regional Disaster Management Agency), fire department, public order agency, health department, and hospitals. The event was also attended by representatives from the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia, Agus Joko Sugiarto, and representatives from PT Jasnita Telekomindo Tbk., Samsul Effendi. During the occasion, Aries extended his congratulations to ATV on its 21st anniversary, recognizing its contribution to building an information and entertainment network in the City of Batu and Malang Raya. With the introduction of the emergency call service 112, it is hoped that the
residents of Batu will experience significant benefits from quick and responsive access in emergency situations
